Fastest Growing U.S. Cities in 2008
This data relates only to cities of over 100,000 in population and shows the top 10 of the 25 listed.. Growth goes from July 2007 to July 2008. Data from the United States Census Bureau recently released was based on housing unit estimates.
Of the top 25 cities, several were in California. These included Roseville, Irvine, and Victorville.
Looking at the various spreadsheets (you can look at their site — I’ll try to get them into some later posts) that the census bureau publishes reveals that there are many ways to slice the data and many ways to intepret the data. When looking at the data, one must also consider the details.
The fastest grwoing areas in Las Vegas are in the north LV area, for example. Hence, when investing, one must still know the specific neighborhoods and interpret the data with care. In California, I am not familiar with Roseville, but understand that Irvine tends to hold its real estate value. I wonder what the real estate gurus will tell us about the data recently released — interesting
