Monarch Butterflies — Caterpillar Faith
Dot’s Thot: Somehow the monarch butterflies have not proliferated wildly as in some generations past. I am not sure why, but was delighted to finally find one fat caterpillar and several flitting butterflies. I’ll keep the faith and get out the cultivator tools and tend to the asclepsis or butterfly bushes and wait some more. Yet, here is a photo taken today and a thought as we wait for the butterflies.

Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar Feeding on Asclepsis Leaf

I’ll keep posting about the butterfly progress as we go along. As far as caterpillars go, this one somehow is not scary , unlike the great big green horned caterpillars that devour tomato plants — maybe, it is the pretty white, black, and yellow stripes. Perhaps it is the anticipation of the Monarch butterflies.
Aloha, Dot
